1. They’re popular
In 2018, French Bulldogs were ranked as #4 on the list of Most Popular Breeds by the American Kennel Club.
  2. They can ‘talk’
Using a complex system of yawns, yips, and gargles, the dogs can convey the illusion of their own language.
  3. Most can’t do ‘it’ the natural way
Due to their unusual proportions, the dogs have a little trouble with coitus. Males have a hard time reaching the females, and they often get overheated and exhausted when trying to get things going. As a result, a large majority of French bulldogs are created through artificial insemination.
  4. They’re celebrity magnets!
Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Hugh Jackman, Reese Witherspoon, Madonna and The Rock have all been seen on tabloids and social media with their French bulldogs. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Frenchie is named Django!
  5. They’re nicknamed “Frog Dogs”
Due to the strange way they will lay on their tummies and splay their legs back behind them like a frog.
  6. Lots of varieties
There are nine standard colors of the French Bulldog officially recognized by the AKC, breeders, judges, and clubs. These are: brindle, brindle and white, cream, fawn, fawn and white, fawn brindle, white, white and brindle, plus white and fawn. “Ticked” is considered the standard marking of a French Bulldog, as listed by the AKC.
